Digital Storage Converter
Convert between Bits, Bytes, KB, MB, GB, and TB.
Data storage units can be confusing due to the "Decimal vs Binary" conflict. Hard drive conversion (TB) often looks smaller on Windows because Windows calculates in binary (TiB) but displays "TB". This converter supports both SI Decimal units (KB, MB - base 10) and IEC Binary units (KiB, MiB - base 2).

Frequently Asked Questions
The Great Storage Debate
1. Why is my 1TB drive only 930GB?
Manufacturers sell drives using **Decimal** units (1 TB = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes).
Windows reads drives using **Binary** units (1 TiB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes).
1,000,000,000,000 / 1,099... ≈ 0.909 TiB (which Windows incorrectly labels "931 GB").
2. Bit (b) vs Byte (B)
Lowercase b is for bits (speed). Uppercase B is for Bytes (storage).
If you have a 1 Gigabit (Gb) connection, it transfers 0.125 Gigabytes (GB) per second max.
